Teaching

Thinking About Teaching after your degree?
Or like to have it as an option?

Students completing a Bachelor of Arts (Community, Culture & Environment) can apply to enrol in a one-year Graduate Diploma in Education to qualify as a Teacher in Australian and Overseas Schools.

For further information about Teaching as a career option, please visit https://www.det.nsw.edu.au/employment/teachnsw/index.htm

If you are thinking about Teaching you need to plan your subjects to ensure you are eligible to enrol in a Graduate Diploma in Education (GDE) after you finish your Bachelor Degree.

Step 1. Check out the subject requirements for Primary or Secondary Teaching.

Step 2. Study the Key Learning Areas at Bega for planning what subjects to do.

Step 3. Complete an unofficial subject pattern to check that you are on the “right track”.

Step 4. When you’re in your Third Year of your Bachelor studies, you can send an official Request for Assessment to confirm your eligibility for a Graduate Diploma in Education prior to applying.

TAFE CREDIT TRANSFER FOR FUTURE STUDENTS

There are many ways to satisfy the academic entry requirements for a Bachelor degree at UOW. Successful completion of an appropriate program may contribute towards credit or exemption in the UOW program you intend to apply for.

The type and amount of credit transfer granted depends on the TAFE program and subjects completed, together with the program rules and structure of the UOW degree.
